Tuning & Maintenance Packages

Maintenance of your percussion instruments is vital for your students to sound their best and for the longevity of the instruments. Much like a piano needs regular tuning and your car needs regular oil changes to work properly, drum heads needs regular tuning because of the effects of continuously playing with sticks and mallets. Playing on heads that are over- or under-tuned cause them to be more susceptible to being damaged in addition to not sounding their best. You can also prevent last minute issues (such as a keyboard cord breaking right before a performance!!) with routine maintenance checks.

Discounts are available for multiple maintenance visits over the course of the same school year. Please inquire.

  • Basic Concert Package

    Get your concert drums sounding their best for your next performance. This package includes clearing & tuning the heads and pedal & tuning gauge adjustments for 4 timpani, 1 concert snare drum, up to 4 single headed concert toms, and 1 concert bass drum.

  • Enhanced Timpani Package

    This package includes everything from the Basic Concert Package, plus additional attention to your timpani. We will do a full cleaning of the timpani in addition to lubricating all moving parts.

    This service is recommended once per school year.

  • Add Ons

    Supplement one of the tuning packages above with other instruments in your section. New drum head changes can also be added to any package for an additional cost.

  • Keyboard Package

    Don’t forget about your xylophones, vibraphones, and marimbas! For each instrument we will remove the bars and do a basic cleaning of the frame and resonators, straighten any bent suspension posts, replace missing or worn out suspension post sleeves (up to 10 included), adjust damper bar (vibes), and change out the bar cord.

    $45-60 per instrument

    Please inquire about chimes and glockenspiel pricing separately. These instruments have more specific needs.

  • Marching Battery Packages

    Tuning and Head Changing services for your battery percussion are available as well. Please inquire for a price quote based on your section’s instrumentation.

  • Replacement Parts

    Any missing or damaged parts that are in need of replacement are an additional cost to any package and will be itemized. A separate visit may be necessary if parts need to be ordered.
